Career guide of the Future jobs
With the new technology and new inventions we are
moving towards the age of uncertainty. The only thing that will be constant is
changes. The nature of work is constantly changing and the jobs that were
attractive & lucrative in the last 10 or 20 years has been disappeared because
of rapid changes in the world.
Your parents may find working for a single company
throughout their career and life more relevant and secure, however in your time
this concept of job has been changed. You don’t need work like your parents
(from 9:00 to 6:00). You have better options for yourself like freelancing and
remote work.
The jobs in the future will be different than today’s
jobs. The most important thing for the future jobs will be your attitude to
learn and acquire new skills. You don’t need to be a Manager or an Engineer to
be successful, what you need is big aspiration and an area of your choice in
which you want to work for making your life more enjoyable.
So, what you can do to make your dream into reality?
It's not that tough. Technology had made it more easy for us. There are many ways through which you can make
yourself better prepare for the future:
Personal Branding:
You are your own personal brand ambassador. You can promote yourself using your
mind and available tools like social media and creative thinking. On social
media you can write blogs, posts and micro blogs to promote yourself by
becoming more socially aware and share your thoughts on different issues. It
will help you to improve your image among your target audience.
Soft Skills:
It is also called people skill because the main purpose of learning soft skills
is to deal with people in a more effective way. So, what you can do is work as
a volunteer or join internships that can help you to express your thought with
others and work in a team to be a better team player.
Social Skills:
Social skills can make you a better team player and a good leader. How can you
learn social skill? Answer is simple, try to utilize the available
opportunities near you. Participate actively in the college activities and try
to make professional networks that can help you to find your best job or work
(You can use LinkedIn for this). Interacting with new people and work can make
your social skills sharper.
Effective Job Search:
The beginning of any job search is about knowing what you want. It is from there
that you start to work on your CV which is your introduction to the prospective
employer. Your prospective employer should know from your CV what you can do
for them and convince them to shortlist you for the next stage of selection.
Stand out of the Crowd:
Companies are using social media platforms and internet to finding the talent
in the market. LinkedIn is the best example of it. You can improve your chances
of selection by making your LinkedIn profile more relevant. Try to work on your
personal brand. Enough resources are available online, effective use of such
resources can help you a lot.
There will be many new areas of work and people will
need to stay on the top of it. The future work needs a continuous learning and
acquiring approach from you to learn new skills for the new jobs, that is even
not available in the market today. You need to be open to learning new language
and new skill-sets. The opportunities are endless, however what it demands is
continuous learning and quick learning attitude from you. If you are not afraid
of learning and explore new things the future is yours!
